Description
This is my submission for 's contest NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. Normally I would convert the restored Judy Lee costume jewelry pin into a pendant and string it on the wirework, using a hook-and-eye clasp at the ends. However, I wanted to represent the theme of no end to the world by creating a continuous necklace. I achieved this effect by leaving the Judy Lee pin intact and using the pin mechanism to connect the looped ends of the wireworked section together. The result is a choker that appears to be one seamless piece without beginning or end--just like life in the world we call home.
This piece was created with 24 gauge pink coloured copper wire, 20 gauge gold-filled wire, 20 gauge silver-filled wire, and a vintage Judy Lee costume jewelry pin that I restored. The inset shows the wirework on the back of the choker.
This piece will be for sale after this contest has ended, and I will post purchasing information at that time.
